Penn State’s Manufacturing And Sterilization for COVID-19 (MASC) Initiative aims to leverage Penn State’s research enterprise to innovate potential solutions to address the healthcare needs caused by COVID-19.
This is an academic research initiative conducted in full compliance with federal law and University policy. The solutions devised by MASC have not necessarily been implemented in a clinical environment, and they may not be appropriate for implementation in a clinical environment. Each solution must be closely examined to ensure compliance with federal law and the applicable regulations.
The group is growing rapidly and currently involves administrators, faculty, staff, and students at all levels across multiple colleges and multiple campuses. This includes the Penn State Hershey College of Medicine which is on the frontlines of fighting the virus. For the latest news on the fight against COVID-19, please check the CDC’s site on Coronavirus as well as Penn State’s Coronavirus Information site, and the Covid-19 Healthcare Coalition.
